The Meltdown at Sylvan Lake Spring Festival is This Month
Parents, if you’re like us - you love a good festival. They’re often stacked with free family fun, and if you’re lucky, you'll get the chance to experience something that you haven’t experienced before. This year, just ninety minutes outside of Calgary, there’s a spring festival in Albert that’s going to do just that.
The Meltdown is popping up on March 23, 2024 in Sylvan Lake. It’s an Alberta festival worth the drive, with a balloon glow event where incredible hot air balloons are lit, and tethered from the ground for you to explore. There’s HOLI colour throwing, there’s fireworks and there’s a full day of family fun that’s worth the road trip from Calgary.

Know Before You Go
There are two parts to the festival, the first part in the afternoon at 1-4, and the second part in the evening, 7-9. With the break in between you can spend some time getting dinner at one of the restaurants in Sylvan Lake.
The fireworks are at 8:30. If you don’t mind the late drive home, this is a really fun way to kick off spring in Alberta!
There are three sessions for the HOLI colour throwing in the afternoon
