There’s a giant ice festival coming to Calgary this month – GLOW. You can head out with the kids and enjoy ice and light installations around the city. There’s live music, delicious food, drinks and activities for every single person in the family. You can find local ice carvers, take a ride down an ice slide and experience the magic that comes with glow on a winter night.
What can you do while you’re there?
If you love waterslides, then get ready for the Ice Slide! Hand carved and illuminated, the ice slide is both a work of art and fun for the whole family.
Enjoy the sparkling beauty of ice sculptures all along Stephen Ave and vote on your favourite ice carvers as they uncover works of art from the ice right before your eyes.
You don’t have to worry about your drink being cold enough at GLOW! Metropolitan, Local, and The Guild are opening outdoor Ice Patios and Milestones will be operating a beer garden in Stephen Ave.
Visiting the festival is completely free. If you bring along a thermos of hot chocolate for the family to enjoy and take in the no-cost festival activities, it’s a great way to get out and enjoy winter, without spending a dime! That’s a family date that we can get behind!
