Kids will learn fun ways to create their own emoji. We’ll show them how to draw colourful faces and objects. They’ll get hands-on using the Procreate app on iPad with Apple Pencil to draw an emoji to take home. Devices will be provided.

Get out of Town for Banff Snow Days
Every January Banff and Lake Louise comes alive with the annual SnowDays celebration. The streets of downtown Banff transform into larger-than-life winter galleries with giant snow sculptures to be found throughout. The thrill of skijoring can be felt by excited onlookers lining the streets of Banff Avenue and the sounds of laughter and joy can be heard echoing from the SnowDays Play Zone.

Mobile Adventure Playground at Somerset Park
Join us for a self-directed, drop-in program that use loose parts and natural materials to inspire active and creative outdoor play, and connect people, young and old, to nature. Onsite play ambassadors will be on site to inspire play. Parents are encouraged to stay and watch their children's imaginations soar in this new adventure space.

Take a Walk with the Penguins at the Zoo
Walk with the penguins, every day during the winter at Calgary Zoo! It’s your chance to get outside and up close and personal with the crew of penguins out on their daily enrichment walks during the winter. Visit the zoo at 10:30 to see the penguins out for a walk. You’ll meet as many as 12 king penguins participating in the daily walk including: Diana, Grace, Arthur, Solomon, Cleopatra, Josephine, Louis, Phillipe, Henri, Napoleon, George, Boudicca, Rupert, and even a king penguin chick.
